Neurotoxin treatments are safe when a trained, experienced medical professional does the injecting. Neurotoxins carry FDA approval for cosmetic and therapeutic use after extensive research. Jessica is a certified physician assistant, and the assessment before the needle is the part that makes a neurotoxin treatment safe.

During a neurotoxin appointment, a small amount of product goes into the targeted muscles through a fine needle. The appointment moves quickly and most patients describe minimal discomfort. A returning-patient neurotoxin appointment takes about twenty minutes; a first appointment takes thirty, because most of that time is conversation.

Downtime after Botox or filler is typically minimal. Mild redness, swelling or bruising at the injection sites can appear and usually settles within a few days. Filler swells more than neurotoxin, and lips swell most of all — do not book lip filler the week of a wedding.

Results from neurotoxin begin to show within a few days and settle fully at one to two weeks. Results from filler are visible immediately, though what you see on day one is partly swelling, so judge filler at two weeks. Neurotoxin results typically last three to four months.

Most patients come back for neurotoxin every three to four months. How often you come back for filler varies by area and by product: under-eye filler can last from six months to over a year, and biostimulators typically hold at least two years.

The two-week follow-up appointment is a ten-minute visit two to three weeks after any neurotoxin or filler appointment, at no charge. Jessica looks at how the product settled and adds a small amount to anything that came up short. The follow-up is standard here, not an upsell, and the follow-up is the reason results look even.

The deposit is $50, holds any appointment, and comes off your treatment price on the day. The deposit is non-refundable and does not carry over to a rescheduled appointment. JD Aesthetics is a single-injector practice and a cancelled slot usually cannot be refilled, so please be certain of your date before booking.

Filler from another injector can be dissolved when the filler is hyaluronic acid. Migrated or misplaced hyaluronic acid filler comes out with hyaluronidase, $250 a session, and dissolving is often the right first step before anything new goes in. Book a consultation — there is no awkwardness here about work done elsewhere.

No age makes someone too young or too old for injectables. What matters is what is actually happening to your face and whether a treatment addresses that change. Jessica will tell you when the right answer is to wait.
